TCS Manager Manav Sharma Commits Suicide, Accuses Harassment by Wife

In a shocking incident, Manav Sharma, a 30-year-old manager with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), was found dead by suicide at his home in Agra on February 24, 2025. Prior to his death, Sharma had left behind a video in which he accused his wife, Nikita Sharma, of harassment and said he was upset with their strained marriage.

Last Message: Harassment Allegations

Manav Sharma, before ending his life, made a close to seven-minute video recording, during which he leveled serious accusations against his wife. He alleged that Nikita had an extramarital relationship and that she used to threaten him with false allegations on a regular basis.

While making the emotional message, Sharma appealed to society to take notice of the plight of men, stating:
“Please, let someone speak of men. They get so isolated… If one does not make changes in laws, there won’t be a man left who can be accused.”

His suicide note and video have incited global debate on domestic rows and mental well-being.

Family’s Claims: Troubled Marriage and Threats

Sharma’s father, retired Air Force officer Narendra Kumar Sharma, reported that his son’s marriage that started on January 30, 2024, was tumultuous. The couple, according to him, would fight incessantly. Nikita, he said, insisted on being with someone else and threatened Manav on several occasions with false claims.

On the previous day of his death, Manav is said to have dropped Nikita off at her parents’ house where he allegedly was threatened by them. On the next morning, he was discovered dead in his house.

Wife’s Response: Counterclaims of Alcohol Addiction

Nikita Sharma refuted the accusations, stating that Manav had a problem of alcohol addiction and had even attempted suicide earlier. She accused him of becoming agitated and quarrelsome after he found information regarding her past relationship.

She also claimed to have told her in-laws about his aggression, but they ignored her concerns and told her to manage it herself.

Police Investigation Underway

After receiving a complaint from Manav’s family, the Agra police have booked Nikita Sharma and her family under Section 108 (abetment of suicide).

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Agra City) Suraj Rai confirmed that the incident is being probed by the authorities and the video evidence that Manav left behind is being scrutinized. The police are questioning both the families and checking call details for additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding his death.

Public Reaction and Mental Health Concerns

This event has once again sparked debate regarding men’s mental health and the stress they endure in marital conflicts. Lawyers and activists are demanding well-balanced laws and support systems to avoid such tragedies in the future.
