The Aam Aadmi Party delegation met Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Thursday to address the ongoing farmers’ protest at Dallewal. The protest, led by demands for adequate compensation and long-pending issues, has been in the news statewide.
At the time, the AAP delegation advised the Governor to immediately take an active role to address the complaints made by farmers. At that point in time, it emphasized how the party wholeheartedly supported farming-related activities and demanded measures that the state government was obligated to expedite.
The agitation of farmers at Dallewal has been gaining momentum. Protesters are demanding a more aggressive response from the administration. The meeting is the next step in the continuing efforts to find a middle ground.
