Bullied in the Bullring: Samson, Tilak Power India to Series Win with Sensational Tons
India won the thriller of a series when they beat South Africa in the 4th T20I, at the Wanderers Stadium at Johannesburg, popularly known as the Bullring. Asked to bat first, India scored 231 for 4, thanks to the gigantic fifties from Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma.
But the starry Samson held back the innings of his team together with an excellent 118 from just 57 balls laced with 11 fours and 6 sixes along with the angry Tilak Varma’s 101* off just 47 deliveries which enabled India to cross the 230-run mark, thereby dismantling the bowling of South Africa.
South Africa crumbled under pressure as they chased 232. Skipper Aiden Markram’s gallant 76 ran into Indian bowlers Arshdeep Singh (3/29) and Kuldeep Yadav, who restricted the Africans to 191/8, thereby ensuring a convincing win by 40 runs.
With this victory, India now stands unassailable at 3-1 in the five-match series, the team powerfully asserting its dominance and resilience under challenging conditions. The final will go through a routine formality to be played at Durban but, India’s display will resound for years in the Bullring.
