India’s passport ranking has slipped to 85th in the latest Henley Passport Index, which measures the strength of passports based on the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa. It is a drop from previous years, as there are limited visa-free travel options for Indian passport holders.
Singapore is at the top, having guaranteed visa-free access to a huge number of places worldwide for its nationals. The index shows that there are significant disparities in traveling freedom in that some nations like Japan and Germany rank high, while others face far more restricted mobility.
The Henley Passport Index is the most accurate barometer of global mobility and freedom. It offers an exclusive view into the change in the geopolitical landscape and interactions in the global scenario. More on this to come.
