Jaguar unveils new logo as part of ambitious rebranding for electric future

Jaguar has unveiled a new logo and brand identity, the latest step toward becoming an all-electric luxury car manufacturer by 2025. The new identity is part of an overall overhaul to position the historic British carmaker-Bentley and Porsche, among others, on par with a luxury brand.

Key Elements of the Rebranding
New Logo Design:
The new logo returns to the older “leaper” symbol of Jaguar, accompanied by a new lower case, contemporary wordmark with another version commonly called the circular “artist’s mark.” They should be more contemporary but timeless.
All-Electric Vision:
The Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA) will form the foundation of three new electric vehicles launching from 2025, including a four-door grand tourer which offers more than 430 miles of range on rapid charging and other, untitled models in due course.
Repositioning the Brand
Rebranding means Jaguar is taking a step away from competing with the same volume-focused premium brands such as BMW and Audi and is moving further towards the luxury end. There is an aura of exclusivity, innovation, and craftsmanship for a more refined segment of prospective customers.
Sustainability and Innovation:
With knowledge gained from Formula E, Jaguar is considering using cutting-edge technology in new cars, such as new battery technology and heat management.
In the words of Jaguar’s chief creative officer, Gerry McGovern, this new branding is a reimagination of the Jaguar spirit-a brand rebirth, bringing glory to the brand in today’s world. It begins to take its first shapes on 2 December 2024 with the launch of Jaguar’s new electric GT concept in Miami.
