South Korea Plane Crash: Acting Leader Calls for Checks of Airline System After 179 Reported Dead

Dec 29, 2024 – In one of South Korea’s worst aviation disasters in decades, a Jeju Air Flight 7C2216 crashed as it attempted to land at Muan International Airport. The Boeing 737-800 was carrying 181 passengers and crew, with 179 reported dead. Two survivors are crew members, and are currently being treated for medical conditions.

Crash Details

While descending at landing, the aircraft which hailed from Bangkok, got faulty landing gear. During attempts to make a belly landing, it overshot a runway, hit on its concrete barrier, caught fires, and resulted into human disaster.
