Poonch, December 2024: Five Indian Army soldiers lost their lives after their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. This happened during routine movement in hilly terrain.

The car of a convoy strayed off the narrow road to a far-off place in Poonch, falling deep into a gorge. Immediate rescue efforts were launched; however, the five men died from their wounds. Two other men traveling with him in the car suffered serious injuries and were flown out by helicopters to a military hospital for critical treatment.
